What’s this all about? A new initiative to collect community feedback

The Santa Clara Police Department is launching a new project with My90, a San Carlos-based social enterprise, to collect feedback from community members about local policing issues, neighborhood safety, and more. This partnership was made possible by the generous support of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the San Francisco 49ers. My90 will collect feedback from the Santa Clara community in three ways:

  1. A citywide survey in September 2017. Residents will have the opportunity to share their opinions of the police, including SCPD’s future priorities. This free, anonymous survey will be available to all Santa Clara residents by texting “SCPD” to 72803.
  2. A community panel of 20 local residents from July 2017 to March 2018. The panel will provide additional insight on these issues as part of an ongoing dialogue. Participants will include members from a diverse group of leaders in the Santa Clara community.
  3. Specialized focus groups from January to March 2018. These focus groups will be convened based on data collected during the citywide survey to discuss findings and generate recommendations for SCPD moving forward.
